Long range model put on hiatus

Nissan will be delaying the E-Plus extended range version of the Leaf, as the result of the arrest of Ghosn last week. It was originally scheduled to launch on the 28th of November, but will now be rescheduled. This is unfortunate as their lineup would heavily benefit from the larger 64kWh battery that provides an extra 53hp and a significant bump in range. https://jalopnik.com/the-long-range-...-ca-1830654023

Hopefully Nissan updates us soon on when exactly the new delivery date will be. With models like the Kona EV on the horizon, Nissan needs to get the most capable model to market as quickly as possible.

My guess is that we probably wont see it until spring now. That's probably the best time for them to launch it anyways, since it wont be prone to the range loss experienced from colder weather.

That affects every EV and the WLTP would only rate it in optimal conditions anyways. Since sales are currently down in the U.S, that market would heavily benefit from a more practical model.

sometimes car makers wait for the major shows to come and pass to finally announce the delivery date
aside from that asking your local dealers can help, but they are often under NDP type agreements so don't expect much

I'm sure that it was initially planned to debut during the LA Autoshow, but Nissan decided against with all the media focus on Ghosn. Who ever they decide to replace him with will be a step forward for the company.
