Nissan dismissing Ghosn as chairman

It looks like Nissan will be removing Carlos Ghosn as chairman, with reports of misconduct in relation to underreporting his income. As he was one of the key advocates for the Renault-Mitsubishi alliance, this may result in a shift for jointly produced vehicles in the future. According to news sourced he failed to report nearly $44 million in income between 2011 and 2015. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/20/ghos...itsubishi.html

He had to realize that this was going to come out sooner or later. I wonder what sort of payback he will be forced to give, as surely that affected what he has been paying in taxes. I hope that this alliance can continue on without him, because it has allowed Mitsubishi to finally getting back on their feet.

I remember years ago there were a bunch of things in the news which drew attention to just how inflated his salary was in comparison to other board members. Oddly enough he has denied the claims against his financial misconduct but both Nissan and Mitsubishi have already removed him as their chairman.

He can deny all he wants, but there will be no fudging of the numbers once the full investigation goes underway. The fact that he decided to hide his income, suggests that even he thought he was being overpaid lol.

It looks like some new charges are now coming to light, as it is believed that he also cheated Nissan by having them pay for personal vacations, homes and donations on his behalf. He is being held until Dec 10th, after which we will see the formal charges.
