Had leaf 3 months

Hi, I have now covered 3000 miles in my 2015 leaf and at 14500 miles it is booked in for a warranty claim. The level 2 charger has died with error U100B no comms with l2 charger. The only added complication is that the 3 year warranty ends on the 13th of September and the dealer can’t look at it until the 20th . I had to open a case with nissan uk to get them to guarantee that they will look at the fault as a warranty issue. Besides this slight issue I love the leaf and will never buy an ICE car again.

Welcome to the forum McLeaf and glad to see you have an interest in the second gen model. It's an improvement in every aspect, aside from some of the concerns around the lack of a proper cooling system. But at its price and with its standard tech, its currently the best value EV on the market

Welcome. I haven't heard about many issues in the previous gen models, so its a little odd that you've already encountered a charging problem. Be sure to let us know what the fix is one your dealer sources the problem. Have you had a chance to test drive the 2019 model yet?

Hi,
I will be sure to update you after the 20th when they look at it. One thing to note is that I only spotted this with my smart meter and LeafSpy. The dash display had no warnings displayed to say there was a fault. If I hadn’t scanned it before the warranty ended I could have been looking at a big bill.
I might ask for a test drive of the new model while I am in the dealership.
Cheers

Sounds like it was a good thing that you're being proactive. It's a little odd that the car didn't display any kind of error codes. Anyways welcome!

Try getting it for a few hours because if it passes that and you really put it through its paces, you'll know if its a keeper or not.
Rarely can you make an educated decision with a 30-45 minute drive (common with most dealers unfortunately)
