Depends on the platform of those vehicles, if Nissan can mount an electric pack to them and replace the engines with motors. That's a huge change for architecture that was not originally designed for electrification.

There are already companies offering hybrid conversion kits for vehicles, that are simply added on to the existing powertrain. If independent companies are able to do this, than manufactures should have no problems in modifying their platforms. But we've already seen that Nissan has an EV crossover concept in the pipeline.

On a bigger scale when you're dealing with car makers they're more concerned about the long term. Smaller companies can afford to work on smaller scale and lower volume products. Remember, billions go into developing a platform and models that sit on them, a major divide from those small companies.

Every automaker is currently dumping that kind of money into electric platforms, and they all seem interested in releasing entirely new nameplates. There are rumours that the outgoing Rogue will be seeing a redesign in 2019, and I wonder if that will include a hybrid model.
