Actual Pricing for 2018 Leaf

I'm in New Jersey, USA. Just purchased a 2018 Gun Metallic SL that I pick up tomorrow for $31,600 out the door. We don't pay sales tax in NJ on EVs. The car has the following options:

SL Technology Package
Protection Package (Front and Rear Bumper Clear Protector)
Splash Guards
Carpeted Floor and Cargo Mats
All Weather Floor Mats
Cargo Net
Kick Plates
Safety Kit

I knew exactly what I wanted and decided that instead of the back and forth haggling, I'd just go in with a price that I wanted to pay out the door inclusive of all the BS fees that are tacked on. After some back and forth (it's like no matter what, they force you to go through that), we finally settled on the price I asked for along with 0% financing. I think I got a fair price?

Congrats on the new Leaf. And that seems like a pretty good deal to me, everything included. Are you planning on getting a home charging dock?

The SL comes with a level 2 charger, so I just installed a 240-volt outlet myself.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new EV! I'd say that you got a pretty good deal considering all the additional options. You had a chance to test out the Pro Pilot system yet?

I used the pro-pilot driving the vehicle back from the dealer and on the way to work this morning. The adaptive cruise control is fantastic. As for the auto steering, as long as the road markings are clear, it seems to work great. You do start seeing some ping-pong action when they start to become less clear, and it obviously won't autosteer if it can't make out any markings. As part of my work commute, I have about 6 miles on a main highway and since the lane markers were clear, it worked great. I think my favorite feature on the whole car is e-pedal........I'm already used to it and it feels completely natural, not just in traffic but even on the highway.

The Leafs new E-Pedal feature is one of the most talked about. And I would bet that once you've learned to use it properly that it'll make a significant difference on the wear of your brakes. I think Nissan has said they will slowly be updating the Pro Pilot system over time, and that they have plans to make it capable of inner city driving later on.
